| The scrip
program is a unique program to help families reduce rising tuition costs as
well as providing extra funds to the parish and school. By making everyday
purchases such as groceries, gas, gifts, clothes and home improvement items,
you can earn money for your tuition and also for the school.
Scrip is gift certificates or debit cards from stores that you shop at every day. The Scrip program buys these certificates from a national company and from local businesses at a discount and resells them at face value. You then use the certificates like cash for your purchases at these businesses. There are over 100 businesses in our program with discounts varying from 2%-33%. Profit from Scrip at All Saints is split 50/50, with half going to the school to fund various school expenses. You choose how the other half is applied. Your half can go to the Parish, the All Saints School tuition assistance fund, or a tuition account for yourself or another family to be applied toward tuition at All Saints, Regis, or Xavier. You can now also use your half of the profits for the All Saints Haiti Fund, and the All Saints Religious Education Fund. You don't have to be a member of the church, or have kids that go to All Saints school to be able to buy. This is a great way for others, such as family, friends, and Grandparents, to help you out. Here is just an example of what you could make in earnings for a month:
Now keeping in mind, that these are estimates, this means that you have earned a total of $30.00 for 1 month. Split 50/50, it would be $15.00 to the School, and $15.00 towards your account. This is just by purchasing items that you would need, at businesses that participate in our Scrip program. We have a large variety of restaurants, retail, grocery, and gas stations, that you can choose from. Do you like to eat out? There are more than 30 restaurants that take Scrip. Do you have a JC Penney's or Kohl's credit card? You can use Scrip to make credit card payments! You can also go online and view all of the stores, restaurants and gas stations we can order from Great Lakes Scrip at www.glscrip.com. Scrip certificates make fantastic gifts - one stop shopping without fighting the crowds at the mall! We also offer All Saints Scrip Certificates in any denomination you would like to give as gifts for friends, and teachers, or anybody that you just aren't sure what to get them. Then they can make their own choice, and whatever they choose, that discount is applied to the account of the person buying the All Saints Scrip Gift Certificate. Buying Scrip is easy! In the Order Form section, you can choose to either print out an order form, or you can submit by email. During the school year, Scrip is sold cash and carry every other Wednesday morning at All Saints from 8:30-9:30 and Friday afternoons from 3-4 pm, all year on Sundays from 8:45-10:25 in the All Saints Church entrance. For a list of scheduled sales times, go to Sales Schedules. Drop boxes located in the entrance at child care and the cafeteria at school are available if you can not make it to any sales times, and to drop off checks when ordering by email and selecting to pay by check. Any Scrip that is not on hand, has to be ordered. If you know you will be making a large Scrip order, please let us know in advance so we can have more on hand. Orders are placed only once a week, on Monday mornings at 9:00 am. Anything ordered by that time should be available by Friday. Payment must be made at the time of order. We accept cash and checks, and we are working on being able to pay with your credit card. For the year 2005/2006, Scrip earned $38,000. We had 40 families earning over $100 and even 1 with over $1000. We have 190 families/friends using the program from both the school and church. Our goal for this coming year is to earn $45,000. Keep watching the Goal Thermometer on our home page. |
